Just the other day, someone asked about the seating in Studio 3, wondering if it was like the huge Studio 1 audience area. Well, here’s your answer. There’s a lot of history here as this was home to “The Dean Martin Show”, “The Jerry Lewis Show” and countless others, including much of ‘Tonight’ with Jay Leno. I believe The Dean Martin Show was from Stage 4. At least it was when I was there.
I was in Studio 3 twice. In 1982 the studio was empty…except for some bleachers at the far end. In 1997 Jay Leno’s set filled the studio…including his specially designed seating.
Studio 3 was used a lot for gameshows (Password Plus, Hollywood Squares, etc.)
The scenery door doesn’t look all that tall. Did the “squares” set come apart to move it?
