KTLA Mobile Units 1956
In the first 3 or 4 minutes, we get to see the KTLA mobile units set up their TK30s and film cameras to cover the opening of the Capitol Records Tower. After that, there is tour of the new digs, that takes in all but the recording studios. Thanks to David Crosthwait for sending this video.

Love the lounge music! The hipster appeal of that ultra-cool building, so intentionally NOT square, seems lost on the ancient stiffs and old fogies on the tour. Little did they anticipate how profoundly the music coming from that building would soon change their world. Also: They shot album covers right there? Huh…I never suspected. Computers with punch cards! And how vast is that crowd in studio A? I’ll bet particles of their cigarette smoke are still imbedded in the sound-absorbing materials on the walls.
Clint Eastwood was a little known contract player with Universal Pictures at this time…it doesn’t seem likely he’d be invited to such a gala.
