Classic 1950s design combined with, yes, the magic word, serviceability. Computers up until the mid-1980s had the same properties as far as being serviced was concerned. Thank you for this. I always wanted to see what the inside of one of these looked like since I was a kid.
I never got to work with these, I started in the late early 80s. As I understand it, these and other early studio color cameras couldn’t genearate a composite color output on their own– that was done by more equipment back in the rack. If that’s true, what was the division between the Camera head and the CCU in the camera chain? Could a TK-41 operate at all if disconnected from the ccu? Could it for example generate at least an rgb signal that could go to a monitor? I’m wondering at what point did studio cameras have everything needed to get to a composite color signal out put in the head?
