About half way into this 6 minute clip, Annette takes us to Disney’s Studio 3 where the Mickey Mouse Club was shot and tells us about the ‘other’ big Disney show on ABC…’Disneyland’. Lots of Davy Crockett memories in the second half too.
1950s
There’s one misstatement in the Annette Funicello segment. “Disneyland” originally aired on Wednesday nights on ABC. It later switched to Friday with a title change: “Walt Disney Presents.” It wasn’t until Disney moved the show to NBC to take advantage of that network’s use of color programming (which neither ABC nor CBS had at the time) as “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” that the show moved to Sundays.
Okay, my childhood memories are far too vivid, especially about Walt Disney stuff, because I loved the Disney shows so much.
