My thoughts are what made Dave good was his nbc days. I still have his first nbc late night on tape. It was low budget and he did all this different stuff. IMHO ferguson is like that in some ways. I watch him sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night. Never saw Colbert. I am sure this was in play for awhile. I agree I think cbs should have went in another direction and not go mainstream.
At least it’s not Craig Ferguson.

Although her roots at NBC are deep, I would have loved for Tina Fey to have taken over.
