Thanks top Bettina Levesque for this picture of her behind the camera at the Metro Media Square Studios where the last two seasons of “Three’s A Crowd” were shot in ’84 and ’85. The camera is an RCA TK45. Enjoy and share! -Bobby Ellerbee

    I fondly remember running TV-81 to the roof of the Milwaukee (really) stadium day-prior for a Green Bay Packers pre-season football game in the late 70’s Hundreds of feet of cable to pull. At dinner that night, I couldn’t lift my fork. Dinner became Pepsi with a straw. For the life of me, I can’t remember why we pulled instead of dropped, but there was a reason.

    It is strange to see RCA equipment at KTTV/Metromedia Square. I associate Norelco PC-70s with this facility; though by the time this photo was taken in the mid-1980s, their Norelco cameras would have been long in the tooth. I recall George Sunga, a producer on “Three’s Company,” saying that they chose to produce the ABC series at CBS Television City due to its superior production facilities and personnel. But as demands on TVC studios increased, CBS questioned why they were accommodating a show that aired on another network, and “Three’s Company” had to look for another home.

    …….and I had once thought Metromedia stuck with Norelco!!! Saw a few early eps. of “Jeopardy!” on YouTube, 84-85 or so, shot at Metromedia, and thought, “those cameras look like 45s or 46s!”

    It seemed to me the Philips/RCA co-existence continued into the Fox era: “In Living Color” was shot with LDK-6s [watch some eps, and you may catch them], while the kids’ game show “Finders Keepers” used TK47s [watch an ep. and you’ll see them all the time!].

    This was actually the “Three’s Company” spinoff “Three’s A Crowd” which aired from 1984-85 & taped at Metromedia Square. Three’s Company taped a few eps at Metromedia & ABC Television Center during its short 1st season,then CBS Television City from 1977-82. They taped 2 eps at Metromedia again during the 1979-80 season while their studio at CBS was unavailable to them I believe,ep 4.05 Jack the Ripper aired Oct 9 1979 & ep 4.06 The Life Saver aired Oct 23,1979,then back to Metromedia from 1982-84
