Thank You For Helping Me Make Snowballs! A Personal Message…

As a body of television history, Eyes Of A Generation is like the snowball that gets bigger and bigger as it rolls down the hill. I am the snowball maker, you guys are the snow covered hill…without which, the snowball would not get any bigger. I am constantly amazed by the extra added facts and information that come from you, and very thankful for your input.

Unfortunately, there is not always solid information out there on the topics we cover here, and due to that, I am not always one hundred percent correct, but I’m doing the best I can with the facts I can find, so please bear with me. The things you ask, send in and add with your comments is incredible and greatly appreciated by all of us playing with this huge puzzle. Those pieces add up and the next time we revisit a past topic, the snowball we start with is a bit bigger, and it’s all thanks to you. I couldn’t do this without you! Each of you!     Eyes.Thank You for letting us that were blessed to be in the business tell our stories and experiences. I did it for 25 years 20 in Local TV and 5 years at the national Level at XM Satellite Radio. The stories we tell are true as far as what we have done and seen and the people Famous or other wise. I had a remarkable ride do to 2 gentlemen that gave 10th grade dropout with a lot of enthusiasm and handwork and willing to work for Low pay but I owe everything in my life from age 19 to age 47 when I retired . For a life I could have never dream that would come out the way it did.

    EoaG has been a catalyst for many of us old timers, and not so old timers. It gives meaning for myself that I was a small part of something much bigger. I hope someday I can put together all of my thoughts and write a book about the stories and experiences shared from behind the camera. I don’t think there are many from the viewfinder side in print or as an eBook.

    I always enjoy seeing your posts and reading. So many of them bring back memories of my career. Never at a network, but many on remotes for networks, and the local stations I did feeds to network news, etc.

    Bobby, I’d like to write an academic article on EoaG this year–this is a new, different, effective, and highly accurate way of capturing history when many of the participants are alive, but the immediate records are scarce. What you’re doing is a big idea.
