Remember Hullabaloo? January 12, 1965 – August 29, 1966, NBC

This was NBC’s answer to ABC’s ‘Shindig’, a half hour primetime music show for us teenagers. I remember both well, do you?

The show was taped in three different locations for some reason. It usually came from NBC Brooklyn, but Studio 8H also hosted some episodes. NBC Burbank also did some shows there, but I think there were less than a dozen from there.

  1. Hullabaloo was a great show on NBC. What now seems subliminal is that at one point, almost every guest host had an NBC Show on for a little bit of cross promotion. Robert Vaughn, Michael Landon, etc. One of the dancers on the show was Donna McKenzie who had dark hair and was one of the girls who escorted Jerry and Gary Lewis. She went on to great fame and won a Tony for ‘A Chorus Line’.

  2. I remember them both very well. there was a “Hullabaloo” dancer that I hated and I still don’t know why! Her name was Lada Edmond Jr ..they couldn’t keep the camera on her and it drove me nuts! Funny the things you remember as you get older!
